About travis
I'm from Kalamazoo, MI and have since lived in Colorado and California. You can currently find me trekking around the country in Shasta, my 2006 Dodge Sprinter Van converted into a tiny home/cabin. My passion is adventure based around the human heart, taking risk for growth, finding the things which make me feel alive, and finding ways to invite others along in the process. I feel extremely lucky to have lived my life so far and gone on so many adventures. After college, I viewed my life as a free thing to explore and have stood against the current of normalcy to do learn, participate, love, encourage in my own way, and pursue things I'm interested in un-bashfully and earnestly. This has led me to work at a group home, voluntarily experience homelessness first hand, bike across the midwest, create a position at a homeless shelter, coach lacrosse, become a caretaker at a mountain lodge, write a couple books, travel to 18 different countries working for fortune 50 companies, pursue my lifelong love of photography to further explore/tell stories, and do my best to live genuinely in a way that cares for the world around me. Among these wild and defining stories, cancer has played a big role in my twenties. Writing has been a staple for me in it all - to hope, take action, and create community. My goal is to stay interesting by staying interested. My hope is you'd like to join in.
